I got up this morning fully intending to drive my 30 mile commute from Kent to Bothell. But I decided to call the official T-Mobile Work Site Information Hot-Line first and to my surprise I heard my office was... closed. It was actually the first time in my four years I've heard that (the office may have been closed on Thursday and Friday but I was already planning to be out those days). So today I battled a few thousand other employees for bandwidth and worked from home.Another 4 inches of snow fell overnight making the total depth somewhere between 7 and 8 inches at my condo. I'm pretty sure that is the largest accumulation I've seen in my eight years of living here.
I made it to the Seahawks game on Sunday by riding the Starline shuttle. I'm glad it was running. Nice not to have the stress. I also got to see another win which raised my final 2008 record to 2-2 (versus their 4-11 overall record). It was a pretty cold and miserable game but I was glad I was there to see coach Holmgren make his thank you march around the stadium when the game was over. He's a good football coach but he will be missed more for his heart and character away from the sidelines. Much like Lou Piniella, it may be a number of years before we have another coach as endearing and successful.
