Is 2008 the Year of the Serpent?

Last Sunday my brother Eamonn and his bandmates premiered their band, Year of the Serpent, as the headliners at Studio Seven. My mom, sister and I were among the special few who were on hand to see their inaugural performance and we were not disappointed. Although they would be classified as a hard rock or heavy metal band, their songs were very listenable and at times infectious.

Eamonn is the band's lead singer and rhythm guitar player. The performance lasted about 30 minutes and consisted mostly of original songs he wrote. I videotaped most of the show. Their song Judgement Day was my sister's favorite so I'm posting it here for readers of this blog to see:

My only disappointment with the show was that the band opted to cover Judas Priest's Living after Midnight rather than my suggestion—Riverbottom Nightmare Band (from the late 1970's classic Emmett Otter's Jug-Band Christmas). Hopefully, it will surface in a future performance...

Nice job, Cho.

Little Eamonn??? Holy cow!

I remember when we were in college and we took a picture of this little guy holding a can of beer and the can was half as big as he was!

Now just look at him! I would have never suspected he'd be leading a rock band! Wow! Sounds great -- and I hope he goes far...

Reserve a disc for me when he cuts his first CD! ;)
